Biography
Emerita Professor of Nursing, Primary Care Unit, Department of Public Health and Primary Care. University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine and Cambridge University Hospitals 2013 - 2023. Formally retired 30 September 2023, although part-time in the PCU and remaining active in research. Leader in cardiovascular research with particular focus on the diagnosis and management of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention, and primary care management of patients with CVD. Professor Deaton continues to support building research capacity among nurses, allied professionals and medical trainees.
