We are pleased to announce that four prizes will be awarded at the SAPC South East 2026 Conference, recognising excellence in research, creativity, and presentation.

1. Medical Student Prize

Awarded to a medical student presenting work undertaken during their undergraduate studies. The winner will receive a £100 gift voucher.

2. Creative Enquiry Prize

Awarded for the best creative enquiry presentation. The winner will receive a £100 gift voucher.

3. Poster prize

Awarded to the presenter of the best poster. The winner will receive a £50 gift voucher.

4. SAPC Prize

Awarded to the presenter and main author of a paper who has no more than five years (whole-time equivalent) of research experience. The prize is complimentary registration for the national SAPC conference, awarded to the presenter of an outstanding oral presentation.

Criteria for judging (all prizes except Creative Enquiry Prize)

  • Importance of topic
  • Clarity of aims/research question
  • Trustworthiness of results
  • Importance of findings
  • Quality of presentation, including clarity, educational value, and layout of slides or poster

Criteria for judging Creative Enquiry Prize:

  • Impact: The work moves, engages and opens up new perspectives.
  • Reflection: Demonstrates depth of personal reflection, engagement, and learning; considers positionality and perspective.
  • Presentation: Effective use of the chosen medium; confident delivery; supports audience engagement with the message; excellent overall performance.

Judges

Each prize will be assessed by at least two independent judges from different institutions.

Prize presentation

Prizes will be awarded on Friday following the Keynote Address.
