Working together with patients, their families and health professionals, we co-design and test new interventions or services to try to improve the quality of life of people living long-term conditions or serious illness. These may, for example, address intractable symptoms or communication needs.

PrimaryBreathe is a 5-year research programme funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research. Award ID: NIHR203682
The research is aiming to increase the support available for people living with chronic breathlessness and for their family carers.
We are developing and testing a treatment that does not involve additional medicines and that can be accessed through local GP surgeries (primary care).
