Biography

Ank Michielsen is the Strategic Operations Lead at CEU since November 2019. She started as the Deputy Manager of Operations of CEU in September 2018. From 2013 – 2018 she worked at the University of Illinois (US) as Programme Manager. She was responsible for managing large projects up to $115million, which included setting up management structures and procedures, budget management, being the prime contact for the funding agencies, coordinating funding applications, and supervising assistant project managers and administrators. Before her transition to the US, she was a senior project controller and team-leader at the Finance and Control Department of Wageningen University (NL). She worked at the Cambridgeshire County Council from 2006-2010, initially as monitoring and evaluation officer and later as the programme manager of a funding programme, with an average annual budget of £2million. Ank earned her bachelor’s degree in plant science at the Wageningen University and went on to earn her MSc in Rural Sociology at the same University. In 2012 she graduated for her MBA at the Open University.
