Biography
Owen completed a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition (International) at the University of Leeds (2020), with a one-year study abroad to Queensland University of Technology, Australia. They then undertook an MSc in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2021). Owen is currently completing a British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence non-clinical PhD. Along side Owen's PhD, they are pursuing a postgraduate diploma in User-Experience Design whilst already gaining a postgraduate certificate in User-Interface design. Owen recently undertook a 6-month work internship at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Australia.
Research
Owen's interested into how tailoring visual communication of cardiovascular disease risk to different sub-populations may mitigate health inequalities within clinically informed decision-making. Owen has experience in, and are interested in working cross-disciplinary across public health, epidemiology, psychology, data science and user-centred design research.
