Biography
Cameron is a PhD Student and joined the Primary Care Unit in 2023. He works on the CanRisk project funded by Cancer Research UK. His research will address critical questions, including the enhancement of personalised cancer risk prediction, optimisation of user-friendly tools for clinical practice, and the operationalisation of multifactorial cancer risk assessment in primary care and clinical genetics.
Before joining the team, Cameron served as a Research Assistant at Newcastle University, where he contributed to the Mobilise-D project, concentrating on digital mobility outcomes for individuals with various mobility challenges. During this time, he sat on the Patient Public Involvement and Engagement board and supported additional qualitative sub-studies aimed at understanding the impact of Parkinson’s disease on daily life and mobility.
Research
Cameron’s research centres on public health, data science, and technology-driven healthcare solutions, with a strong emphasis on developing comprehensive qualitative and quantitative models for cancer risk prediction, particularly in breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers. His work also involves creating user-friendly digital tools for healthcare professionals and individuals, emphasising informed decision-making.
