Biography

I grew up in Italy, where I completed my Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, International Studies, and Economics, with a Minor in Computer and Data Science, at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. During an exchange at the University College of Groningen, I developed a strong interest in applying statistics to real-world problems. For this reason, I then pursued a Master's degree in Statistical Sciences, curriculum in Health and Population Analytics, at the Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, with an exchange period at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. It was during this time that my passion for statistical genomics emerged; my Master's thesis explored the genetic bases of cardiovascular diseases, using linkage disequilibrium score regression and Mendelian randomization. Now I am a PhD candidate at University of Cambridge, Department of Public Health and Primary Care. My current research focuses on integrating multi-omics and imaging data to better understand the aetiology of cardiovascular diseases.
