Biography
Rachel Wakelin is an Assistant Director of Studies in General Practice, in the General Practice Education Group, and joined the Primary Care Unit in 2019. She graduated from the University of Southampton Medical School in 2007 and completed her Foundation Training in the Wessex Deanery. Relocating to the East of England as an Academic Clinical Fellow, Rachel gained an MSc in Health Research at the University of East Anglia, while training on the Cambridge General Practitioner Vocational Training Scheme. Rachel now continues to work in General Practice and has completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education.
Research
During her MSc Rachel undertook research in breastfeeding and tongue-tie and particularly considering how diagnostic journey is influenced by practitioner attitude, knowledge and medical uncertainty.
Rachel continues to develop her research interests in medical education within the Primary Care Unit.
