Biography
Lois is a Senior Research Associate in the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit with a background in statistics and health economics. Her research interests include microsimulation modelling and economic evaluation with application in cardiovascular disease and blood donor health. She works with NHS Blood & Transplant to harness these methods to optimise blood collection efficiency and safety, and to explore policy modifications in aortic aneurysm screening and cardiovascular risk assessment. Leveraging big data resources to inform statistical models underpinning the natural history in conjunction with policy and economic modules allows a range of policy options to be considered without the need for expensive and lengthy studies.
Research
Lois has research interests in areas relating to screening, survival analysis and health economic modelling, and the interaction between these areas. She is currently working in a range of application areas including screening for cardiovascular disease, blood donation and prostate cancer screening.
