Biography

A graduate of Surrey University BSc. in Medical Microbiology and PhD in Molecular Microbiology (University of Sheffield), Kevin gained extensive experience in the field of public health and infectious disease, working in both the public and private sectors. Eight years with Public Health England saw him play an integral part in the successful development and delivery of services within Genomic Services and Development Unit and undertake deployment to Sierra Leone as part of the Ebola crisis response in 2015. An MSc Economic Evaluation in Healthcare graduate (City University, London), Kevin has gained experience in the development and adaptation of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models in support of UK HTA submissions across a range of health conditions including oncology, haematology and hepatology. Research Interests Primary areas of research interest are the health economic evaluation of the delivery of healthcare and social services, including currently being a member of an NIHR-funded Rapid Service Evaluation Team (RSET) performing rapid mixed methods evaluations of new health and care services and policies Kevin has additional experience from working on projects in the following subject areas: + Measuring indicators, outcomes and costs to inform family interventions for child maltreatment or adversity, or domestic violence or abuse + Early intervention for mental health of 10–16 year-olds: examining the impact of funded area-level interventions across England + Variation in mental and physical health of children with learning disability or autism, their mothers and siblings + Access and use of health care services in children and young people + Economic burden of Respiratory Syncytial Virus in Adults in the UK (RAND Europe) + Deployment of artificial intelligence in lung cancer diagnostic imaging (RSET) + Pilot of maternity & neonatal independent senior advocates (RSET) + Ready to administer medications (RSET)

Research

Primary areas of research interest are the health economic evaluation of healthcare and social service delivery. Kevin is currently involved with the following projects:

  • Measuring indicators, outcomes and costs to inform family interventions for child maltreatment or adversity, or domestic violence or abuse.
  • Early intervention for mental health of 10–16 year olds: examining the impact of funded area-level interventions across England.
  • Variation in mental and physical health of children with learning disability or autism, their mothers and siblings.
