Biography

Jon qualified from Imperial College in 2003 and completed his GP training in Surrey. He worked in practices in Cambridge, Haverhill and Bury St Edmunds before finding a partnership in Wickhambrook (a village near Newmarket). He spends part of the week here looking after some the oldest patients in West Suffolk and training new GPs.  He was a governing board member for the West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group for 2 years and is still involved in service redesign and the development of clinical pathways.

Research

He has keen interests in medical education, clinical commissioning, health promotion and video making. He is currently involved in producing educational videos for students and is interested in how this media can be optimally used to enhance education. He has produced music videos with members of GPEG which have been shown at careers evenings for medical students at the clinical school, emphasizing the positive aspects of general practice.
