Dr Duncan Edwards

Duncan is a Senior Clinical Research Associate in the Primary Care Unit at the University of Cambridge, and a GP partner at Milton Surgery, Cambridgeshire. In his current post, he spends 30% of his time undertaking research.

Duncan qualified from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2005 and later trained in general practice in Cambridge. From 2011-2018, Duncan worked as a GP partner in Thetford, Norfolk, where he introduced research and teaching and served as a Norfolk clinical commissioner. In 2014, he began an NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship with the University of Cambridge to explore the question “How and why does uptake of secondary prevention medication after stroke vary between general practices and between patient groups?”

Away from medicine, Duncan recently worked as a part time primary school teaching assistant, with limited competence.
