Biography

Dr Alex Thornton (MBChB, MSc (Dist.), fCMgr) is a visiting researcher in Department of Public Health and Primary Care (PHPC) at the University of Cambridge and a current SFP resident doctor in the East of England. He graduated Medical School from the University of Leeds and holds a Masters degree in International Public Policy from Queen’s University of Belfast as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership. Alex’s research interests lie primarily in the fields of Public Health and Public Policy, with past projects exploring the intersections between climate change and antimicrobial Resistance, and the generation of healthcare system typologies in the possible scenario of Irish unification.
