Biography
Dr Joanna Hampton has been a consultant geriatrician at Addenbrookes Hospital since 2011. Her specialist interests include syncope, and interface Geriatrics.
Jo trained at Oxford University and then moved to Newcastle where she completed an MD on carotid sinus hypersensitivity. She completed her registrar training in Geriatric medicine in Cambridge and during that time gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.
Currently in her clinical role, Jo runs an admission avoidance service for older people in Cambridgeshire and also runs the Syncope Assessment Service.
Teaching and Supervisions
As an educationalist, Jo is very involved with teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates. Jo’s interest in teaching Professionalism started in 2012 when she became a professional practice group facilitator. She then took up the role of Theme Lead for multi-disciplinary teamwork within the Professional Responsibilities Course. She is a member of the UK Council for Education of Medical Professionalism.
