Biography
Owain works as a clinical research assistant in the Cancer Group and is also a practising GP. He graduated from Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2011 and subsequently worked as a junior doctor in Merseyside completing foundation training in 2013. He then undertook general practice training on the Bridgend vocational training scheme in South Wales, completing his GP training in 2016. He also has a BSc in mathematics from Warwick University, graduating in 2004. Following completion of GP training Owain moved to Cambridge and completed the MPhil in Clinical Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
Research
Owain works in the Cancer Group in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge. He is also involved in the CanTest collaborative, an international group of researchers looking at ways to improve the diagnosis of cancer in primary care. The focus of his current research is improving the early diagnosis of skin cancer in primary care, and the use of machine learning tools to assist with skin cancer diagnosis.

Teaching and Supervisions
Owain has been involved in medical student teaching in his previous clinical posts and has supervised junior doctors clinically and medical student SSCs in primary care research.
