Biography
Yiwen is a Research Assistant in the Child Health & Development Group within the Primary Care Unit. Within this role, she will be primarily working on the Youth Endowment Fund project, using clinical CAMHS data to examine how mental health difficulties and contextual risk factors influence children and young people’s involvement in crime and violence. She has also contributed to several systematic reviews within the group, covering topics such as mental health interventions, suicide, and the use of antipsychotics among children and young people. Prior to joining PCU, she graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Educational Psychology, and worked as a research assistant in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention, University of Oxford.
Research
Her main research interests centre on understanding how early childhood adversities, particularly domestic violence, influence children’s mental health development through different mechanisms and within varying contexts. She is also interested in developing, evaluating, and refining evidence-based interventions to address these issues and improve outcomes for affected children and families.
