Background
Alessandro holds a Ph.D. by publications in Mental Health & Wellbeing obtained at the University of Nottingham and an MSc in Mental Health Studies from King’s College, London. He trained in health policy and research at the World Health Organisation in Geneva where he was involved in the Quality-Rights initiative exploring examples of community-based and recovery-oriented services worldwide.
Research Interests
His research interests focus on dementia prevention and care. His most recent work has focused on the experience of hospice care in bereaved carers of people with dementia and clinical hospice staff. This area of research aims to promote better access to end-of-life and palliative dementia care to reduce the risk of having delayed specialty support and unnecessary hospitalisation during a very sensitive time for the person.
