Samantha is a Social Worker and Play Therapist with experience of practicing social work in England and the British Overseas Territories. She is currently employed in a large Local Authority in sector-led improvement projects and recently completed her Education Doctorate from the University of Winchester, which focused on creative methods of engaging with children and young people in participatory research.
Samantha is funded by an NIHR Fellowship for a study addressing the integration of health and social care for children. She will specifically be looking at the access to mental health support of children in acute crisis, who have social services involvement. This focus has emerged from her own practice experiences, as well as national policy and practice challenges. Social work values and a strong desire for social justice drive Samantha.
