Julia graduated in medicine from the University of Bristol in 2007. After completing her foundation years training she spent a year working in New Zealand. Following this her initial postgraduate training was in surgery and urology. She then decided upon a career in general practice and completed her training in the East Midlands. She now works as a Salaried GP in a deprived area of the East Midlands, and is undertaking a Trailblazer Fellowship aimed at reducing health inequalities in primary care.
Julia’s research interests are around which interventions may work best to reducing health inequalities in primary care. In particular how these interventions might be used in deprived areas to improve postnatal care and reduce postnatal morbidity.
