Sophie has a BA (Hons) in Modern European Studies (German with Geography), which she followed with a MA in Applied Translation Studies (German to English). Sophie holds Level 2 in Leadership and Management (ILM) and has completed the University of Cambridge Project Management Course. She is also a full member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. Sophie does freelance translation of documents in what spare time she has.
Sophie Wilcock took on the role of Co-Project Manager for the Changing Behaviour by Design Project in October 2019 after having worked as the Project Administrator since the start of the Programme in 2018. Sophie is an experienced administrator who worked the NHS (St Mary’s, Addenbrooke’s and Papworth) for 13 years mainly within palliative medicine, cardiac and lung surgery and cancer and on the ProtecT (Prostate Testing for Cancer and Treatment) Study which was a collaboration between Cambridge and Bristol Universities amongst other national centres. Sophie’s roles have ranged from being a Personal Assistant to Administrative Team Leader for medical secretaries and a Directorate Support Manager for Cancer MDTs. She has a keen interest in changing behaviours towards better health.
