Background
Prior to joining the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit (CEU) in the University of Cambridge, Lingyan completed her PhD at King’s College London, where she worked on the largest Lupus Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) supervised by Professor Timothy Vyse and Dr. David Morris, to identify disease causal genes and to quantify genetic risk loadings to infer the susceptibility and severity of disease.
Research Interests
Lingyan joined the CEU in 2018 as a statistical geneticist, with a primary interest in investigating potential causal relationships between conventional and novel risk factors and stroke using Mendelian randomization (MR). Currently, she used GWAS results of human plasma proteome and stroke to investigate proteins that are likely to have causal roles in stroke, which may highlight potential novel future therapeutic targets.
