Background:
I completed my BA in Biochemistry and MSci in Systems Biology at the University of Cambridge, and a PhD in Statistical Genetics studying the INTERVAL and UK BIOBANK cohorts at PHPC.
Examples of my previous project work in the past include: Machine Learning at UCB Biopharma to predict bioactive compounds, looking for statistical biases in Nanopore sequenced long reads, programming an optimization pipeline for bioinformatic software, working with Alzheimer’s data to predict the age of onset of Alzheimer’s from genetic and environmental factors.
Research:
My research interests are working with data and statistics to study biological phenomena, identify new therapeutic drug targets, and generate polygenic scores predictive of disease status or other diagnostic factors. I have started my PhD working on the INTERVAL study in October 2016 and completed my thesis in 2019.
