Background
I have a Biomedical Sciences degree from the Univeristy of Portsmouth and a PhD in Immunology Trinity College Dublin. I’ve had several careers including working in Immunology diagnostic lab in a busy hospital in Dublin, as a postdoctoral scientist at the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg, Germany and as a writer and editor at Science magazine’s ScienceCareers website in Germany and the UK. Just before I joined the Dept of Public Health and Primary Care, I worked as a career consultant for postdocs here at the University of Cambridge’s Careers Service.
Research Interests
I’m responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of patient and public involvement and engagement (PPI/PPE) in the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit which we are supporting across the Unit. This is a growing area and there is a lot of scope to engage. University members, external collaborators, patients and members of the public, please get in touch if you have an interest in this area, we’d love to hear from you.
