Welcome to the Clinical Nursing Research Group (CNRG) Blog. The CNRG is a newly formed research group in the Cambridge Primary Care Unit (PCU) in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care in the Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine, and the Cambridge Institute of Public Health. More information can be found here: http://www.phpc.cam.ac.uk/pcu/research/research-groups/cnrg/
The CNRG is committed to building our programme of research within the PCU and developing research capacity and capability among nurses, midwives and allied health professionals (AHPs) at the University and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUHFT). The two founding members of the group are:
Christi Deaton, Florence Nightingale Foundation Professor of Clinical Nursing Research
Ian Wellwood, Senior Research Associate
We are ably supported by Lucy Ramnought.
Our research interests focus primarily on patients with cardiovascular and other long-term conditions. We have a particular interest on exercise and physical activity as therapy for patients with heart disease, stroke and other conditions, adherence to physical activity, management and self-management of heart failure and comorbid heart disease and diabetes, palliative care in long term conditions, cardiovascular prevention, and nurse-, midwife- and AHP-led services.
In this blog we hope to share with you research ideas, findings and activities in the department and CUHFT, and discussing issues of importance to nurses, midwives and AHPs interested in research.
