Cancer is one of five key research themes at the Primary Care Unit, addressed through the work of several of our groups:
Led by Dr Fiona Walter, the Cancer Prevention & Early Diagnosis Group works on the prevention, timely diagnosis and follow-up care of cancer in community settings.
The research of the Prevention Group focuses on reducing the burden of common chronic conditions where primary care plays a central role in diagnosis and management, such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. The group is led by Professor Simon Griffin.
