Cancer is one of five key research themes at the Primary Care Unit, addressed through the work of several of our groups:
Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research have an interest in understanding the predictors of late diagnosis of cancer, in order to improve the targeting of earlier diagnosis initiatives. This group is led by Professor Martin Roland CBE
The research of the Prevention Group focuses on reducing the burden of common chronic conditions where primary care plays a central role in diagnosis and management, such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. The group is led by Professor Simon Griffin.
