Title: | Start2Quit – Effectiveness of personalised risk information and taster sessions to increase the uptake of smoking cessation services |
Project Description: | Most smokers say they want to quit but only a tiny proportion make use of the free Stop Smoking Services (SSS) provided by the NHS. This randomized trial aims to assess whether sending a brief personal tailored risk information letter and an invitation to a ‘Come and Try it’ taster session will attract more smokers to attend the SSS than a standard generic letter advertising the service. We will also assess which group is more likely to have stopped smoking 6 months later. |
