Title: | FIT International : Guideline review on FIT use in symptomatic primary care patients worldwide |
Project Description: | Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK and the second cause of cancer death. Because the symptoms of colorectal cancer are often vague and frequently related to benign ailments, colorectal cancer is often diagnosed at a late cancer stage, leaving little curative options. This study aims to review current worldwide recommendations around FIT use to triage patients with lower abdominal symptoms for suspected colorectal cancer in primary care. It will provide an overview of current guidelines and discuss the areas of uncertainty. |
