![]() | Morag Farquhar - Chief Investigator Background: Morag is a nurse by background but has worked in health services research for over 25 years. Her PhD was on the definition and measurement of quality of life in older people. Morag holds an NIHR Career Development Fellowship and is leading a programme of work on breathlessness. Role: As Chief Investigator Morag leads the Living with Breathlessness study. |
![]() | Caroline Moore – Research Assistant Background: Caroline has a nursing and health visitor background. Caroline’s PhD explored the experiences of female multigenerational caring. Her research interests include care-giving, women’s health issues, intergenerational family relationships and visual methods. Role: Caroline is one of three Research Assistants on the Living with Breathlessness study conducting interviews with patients and informal carers, analysing data and contributing to the dissemination of the study’s findings. |
![]() | Carole Gardener – Research Assistant Background: Carole is a social worker by background who has worked in a number of areas including mental health and family support. She has recently completed a Masters degree in Psychological Research Methods. Role: Carole is one of three Research Assistants on the Living with Breathlessness study conducting interviews with patients and informal carers, analysing data and contributing to the dissemination of the study’s findings. |
![]() | Hanne Holt Butcher – Research Assistant Background: Hanne has worked in research for a number of years in the private sector as an Insight’s Manager and Business Intelligence Manager. Hanne is currently studying for a psychology degree. Role: Hanne is one of three Research Assistants on the Living with Breathlessness study conducting interviews with patients and informal carers, analysing data and contributing to the dissemination of the study’s findings. |
![]() | Kevin Houghton – Administrative Assistant Background: Kevin spent 25 years working for Barclays Bank, and has been with University of Cambridge for 10 years in various finance and admin roles. Role: Kevin provides administrative support to all aspects of the Living with Breathlessness study. |

The study advisory group
The Living with Breathlessness Programme Advisory Group (PAG) meets every six months with the operational study team to monitor study progress, advise the research team and help plan next steps.
