Title: | Development of simple risk models incorporating modifiable risk factors for the most common preventable cancers using EPIC-Norfolk |
Project Description: | It is estimated that approximately 40% of all cases of cancer are attributable to lifestyle factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, diet, weight and physical activity. Most existing risk models for cancer are either specific to individual cancers, include multiple complex risk factors, or include few modifiable risk factors. The aims of this study are to use the EPIC-Norfolk cohort to develop and evaluate simple risk algorithms incorporating modifiable risk factors to estimate 10-year risk of developing the most common preventable cancers for the UK population. |
