Title: | Diet, Activity and Screening after gestational diabetes: an Interview Study |
Project Description: | This study aims to explore the views of women who had recently had gestational diabetes (GDM) on suggested practical approaches to achieve and maintain a healthy diet and physical activity to reduce type 2 diabetes risk, and attend recommended postpartum diabetes screening.
We will conduct semi-structured interviews with approximately 20 participants in Cambridgeshire at three to 48 months after GDM. After understanding their experiences of managing postpartum diabetes risk, we will elicit participants’ views on 20 potential interventions/intervention elements to support healthy behaviours and diabetes screening attendance. Framework analysis will be used to analyse the transcripts. We based the interview schedule, suggested interventions, and thematic framework on recent systematic reviews. |
