Title: | Altering choice architecture to change population behaviour to improve health outcomes: a conceptual and empirical review |
Principal research question: | There are large expectations that by applying insights from behavioural economics to alter “choice architecture”, health-related and other behaviours can be changed in low cost ways that do not require legislation |
Background: | This project aims to synthesise existing studies to develop ideas of the real difference interventions to change four behaviours, that are the focus of the BHRU (diet, physical activity, smoking and alcohol consumption), could make for overall population health and for the reduction of socioeconomic inequalities in health behaviour and outcomes. |
