What is the place of palliative care in disasters, armed conflicts and other humanitarian emergencies?
Palliative care is practically absent from the current humanitarian response.
This is a state of affairs which PalCHASE is aiming to change.
In December 2016, PALCHASE brought together the groups of PCHAS (Palliative care in humanitarian aid settings) and PALCHE (Palliative care in complex humanitarian emergencies).
Organisationally, it is generously hosted by the International Association for Hospice & Palliative Care. Virtually, it has been kindly welcomed by The Primary Care Unit at the University of Cambridge, while we are still finding our feet!
Joan Marston, Co-chair of PalCHASE, talks of the network in this 2-minute video.
