Over the last year we have been working with over 140 GP practices across the East of England and South London to help us recruit patients to the Living with Breathlessness study.  Our overall recruitment target was 500 patients with COPD: we have exceeded this target with more than 530 patients with COPD participating.

In our postal survey (Care Preferences Survey) we have 300 patients taking part, and in our patient and carer interview study (Longitudinal Interview Study) have more than 230 patients, and over 100 informal carers (family members or friends who support them) taking part. Recruitment of patients and carers is now closed.

We have also recruited more than thirty health care professionals to the qualitative Barriers & Facilitators Study.
