We are proud to announce that we have funded our first internal CUHFT research fellowships for nurses, midwives and AHPs (NMAHPs). These fellowships are to support staff to develop competitive applications for doctoral research fellowships to the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), HEE/NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic Pathway or to an equivalent charity or research council fellowship award. The fellowships provide funding to buy out time, support pilot work, and patient and public involvement activities. Our first awardees are Biljana Brezina, Andrea Edwards, Gillian Gatiss and Emily Johnson. They will be developing their applications in 2015/16 with planned submission of their fellowship applications in 2016. Information about them and their proposed projects can be found here: http://www.cambridge-brc.org.uk/nurses-midwives-and-allied-health-professionals
Congratulations to these four, and many thanks to the BRC and ACT for funding these fellowships, and supporting NMAHP research capacity and capability development.
The next round of internal fellowships has now been advertised, with applications due mid November 2015. These fellowships are open to nurses, midwives and AHPs at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
