Dr Mel Sloan was an invited speaker at the Scleroderma and Raynaud’s UK (SRUK) conference in Glasgow on 1st May 2026. She spoke about mental health in systemic sclerosis, the inter-play with physical health, and how patients and clinicians could communicate better about mental health. Several people living with systemic sclerosis shared their stories, and patients, clinicians, researchers, and charity staff agreed that improving mental health - and how we approach talking about it in clinic - remains a huge unmet need.
