Dr. Nahal Mavaddat is a Walport Clinical Lecturer at the Unit. She qualified in Medicine from the University of Western Australia and trained in General Practice both in Australia and in the UK. She has a post-graduate diploma in Cognitive Science from the University of Western Australia. Her PhD from the University of Cambridge was on the “Cognitive and behavioural sequelae of anterior communicating aneurysm rupture in patients with subarachnoid haemorrhage.”
Nahal’s research interests lie in the area of mental health, physical and mental comorbidity, self-rated health and cognition. Her current research is in the area of subjective health and psychological sequelea in stroke survivors, and positive psychology approaches to management of post-stroke psychological distress.
