MBChB MA MPhil MRCP MRCGP
Nadia is an NIHR In-Practice Fellow in General Practice. She holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Manchester (2008), an MA in Medical Anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and an MPhil in Primary Care Research from the University of Cambridge.
Nadia is interested in the use of qualitative research methods to support the contribution of patient experience to healthcare improvement. As an Academic Clinical Fellow (2010-2014), she joined the IMPROVE project team in the Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research, under the supervision of Professor Martin Roland. During this time she developed her primary care research skillset, completed her MPhil, and conducted video-elicitation interviews with patients in primary care. Now, as an in-practice fellow (2014-2017), she is working in the Cancer Primary Care Group under the supervision of Dr Fiona Walter exploring patients’ experience of safety-netting in primary care consultations. She is also collaborating with Dr Ahmed Rashid on a review of medication-taking experiences. She qualified as a GP in 2014 and works in an inner-city practice in Birmingham.
Nadia has supervised and examined medical students, is a communication skills tutor at the Cambridge Clinical School, and has delivered guest lectures to undergraduate students at the University of Birmingham. She holds a Certificate in Learning and Teaching from Queen Mary University of London and is an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
