Before coming to Cambridge, Eric completed his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia, then went on to complete a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. He has carried out development projects and conducted public health research in South Africa, Haiti, Argentina, and Cameroon.
Eric joined the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit in June 2012 as a Research Assistant.
Eric is a chronic disease epidemiologist with a range of interests. His current research is primarily focused on conducting genome-wide association studies on complex phenotypes from high-dimensional data, such as lipidomics and metabolomics, in order to identify novel loci that are associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, which could have important clinical applications in areas such as CVD screening, risk prediction, and drug target discovery and validation.
