DAVID MELZER MB BCh, MSc, FFPHM
Dr David Melzer is a Clinical Senior Research Associate in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, University of Cambridge.
He is also an Honorary Senior Research Associate with the Judge Institute of Management Sciences, University of Cambridge, and Honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine, Huntingdon Primary Care Trust. His research interests span policy issues in population ageing, mental health, and new technology. His current research includes coordinating the physical health component of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, and a review of policy issues in pharmacogenetics, supported by the Wellcome Trust. In 1998 he took up a Harkness Fellowship in Health Policy, and was based mainly at the US National Institute on Aging. He qualified in Medicine in 1981 and received an MSc in Community Medicine (Public Health) in 1987 from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
