David Wormser received an MSc in Business Economics in 2005 and an MSs in Statistics in 2007 from the University of Geneva. He then completed the MPhil in Epidemiology in 2008 and PhD in Epidemiology in 2011 at the University of Cambridge. David took up the present position as Epidemiologist / Applied Statistician in March 2011.
His research interests include the evaluation of cardiovascular risk factors, especially anthropometric indicators, using data from large-scale epidemiological studies. He is currently working on the Emerging Risk Factors Collaboration (ERFC), investigating (i) to what extent there are shared risk factors for coronary heart disease and pathological stroke subtypes; (ii) whether body-mass index has a differential impact on fatal vs non-fatal coronary heart disease; and (iii) the role of forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) on the risk of vascular and non-vascular outcomes. Other research areas include the application of statistical methods in epidemiological research.
