For his PhD thesis Paul Ng, supervised by Chris Palmer, undertook a study into clinical trials methodology by seeking opinions on traditional versus “learn-as-you-go” design types among groups of clinicians, patients, health professionals and statisticians.

The study was called Survey of Clinical Trial Opinions and Preferences (SurCTOP).
